Oh Henrietta,
That reminds me of long trips in the backseat of an Eldorado Cadillac. Going to visit my great grandmother! Not a whole lot in Henrietta

This is a pretty long threads, trying to make a comprehension of it for the upcoming winter project.

I understand that with the performance carburetor there is no need for jetset, is that correct?

I terms of sequence, I imagine its best to do both the piston and the cam together, once the engine is being take apart. But also, in terms of sequence, if I only have the cash for either the car or the piston + cam, is it better to do the carb first or the piston + cam?

The stock CV carb and the VM carb use a totally different set of jets.

Which is better, to swap the carb first or the piston & cam first ?
Well, that depends ... on whether the budget and/or working time is most important.   Cost and time for a carb swap is less,  cost & time for a cam/piston swap is a bit more.  The cam and piston will yield more hp & torque than the carb, but the carb is easier to do.
What is your preference ?

I think I'll just do the carb, at least this winter. I'll be ordering it from you sometime this fall, unless I can convince the wife that I absolutely need to spend the $ on it right now, lol.

Hi Lancer I bought the stage 3 cam and  a wiseco piston, put it together and it was excellent. I have a mikuni vm36 carb and until a month or so ago it was running like a swiss watch as my oppo said ( who knows more about bikes than he does swiss watches ). Anyways there appeared a nasty rattly noise so after a bit i realised it wasn't going to cure itself so I took the head cover off and the rocker pads and the lobes of the cam look like had been having serious problems the cam lobes looked like they had been worn down to the original profile. Any ideas of what I did wrong or failed to do right? many thanks in advance Steddy I've tried to enclose  pics but it will only let me put one up

Lancer saw your post for the Right side control assembly "Starter Button for $15 I want it as long as it will work on a 2000 Savage. I have a number of other parts I need also .I have no air cleaner, air box ,Tool Box or side covers I could use a new exhaust as well and Possibly a jet kit my bike pops whn turned off so i think it runs lean as well as the header pipe is turning blue. I am new to the Savage/ Boulevard Cruisers . Migh want one of your forward control sets also. Email me at Hammerman Thirty Five at juno.com for some reason I am not getting notified of post on here.

I may have some of the parts you need but will need to check.  I don’t have or sell forward control sets, those are from a different forum member.

Sending you a PM
