Ridin on air.....so far so good.

I know a lot of folks have struggled with the comfort and fit of the stock seat. I have done several mods to mine (seat lift and reshaping the pillion for reach)  to make it better.  It is better than stock, but still not what I wanted.

Even after shaping out a "tailbone tunnel" in the seat, adding some memory foam and recovering it, still wasn't able to get away from the pain if I rode more than 30 miles or so.

Broke down and ordered the Air Hawk cushion. I have to admit, although I have spent limited time on it, I am very impressed. All the pressure points are gone. Takes a few adjustments to get it just right, but I think this is going to be the cure.

I tried it because Motorcycle Closeouts had the medium cruiser size (recommended for the S40 and Savage) for 89.00. That was much better than 149.00 most everywhere else.

Time and travel will be the deciding factor, but so far I am really diggin it.

Safe ridin.

i will try to get some pics of my bike posted up soon.

here is the link to the site for Air Hawk.  The actual company is the ROHO store if I am not mistaken.

http://www.airhawkseatcushions.net/p-242-airhawk-2-medium-cruiser.aspx

Apparently, the guy that invented them came up with the technology to help a family member confined to a wheelchair avoid bedsores.

Like I said, time and miles will tell the tale, but right now I am very optimistic.

And Motorcycle Closeouts shipped it really quickly. My first transaction with them. Very pleased.

That's the same model I put on mine a few weeks ago and I agree, it helps a lot.  For me the biggest benefit was getting rid of numb-butt completely.  I do still get lower back fatigue, but I have a weak lower back, so there's only so much helping with that.

bess,

Don't know if you are still pleased with your Airhawk cushion.  I use one on my 2001 Honda ST1100.  I really like it, but had to make a mod to protect the boys.....I call it The Balzinator:
