brought home my 2007 s40

I picked up my s40 this evening and had a blast riding it. Ony took a short while to get used to the forward controlls.
It is amazzzing how this little bike can manuver so well.

It runs and idels well; the PO must have done the carb work 'cause no back-fire at any time.

I'm only 135lbs so exceleration is very excelant!

In part it was you good people on this forum who inspired me to buy this bike. Thanks a big bunch. Grin

Ill bet a 135 pounds gets a great ride,,

Piglet? Ill bet your bike thinks its running alone,,

The cheapest performance product is the one that cuts weight..

Congrats on the purchase Ridemore!!!  I have an 07 and love it......but you ladies kill me with the 112 lb thing.  I have one leg that weighs 85 with no boot on it  Wink  Makes me feel guilty that I am being unfair to my bike.

I can only imagine what your bike does coming thru 1,2 and 3 at WOT Piglet (i hope it's ok to call you Piglet....as we have not been formally introduced Smiley) ......good for you!!!!

You made a GREAT choice, ridemore. And the many, many great people on this forum are your new best friends. Like you, this bunch helped me decide on the Savage before any of 'em knew me, before I joined. Scan the posts and you'll know more about you new pride & joy than most mechanics. Any time you feel you don't know enough, ask, and you'll get knowledgable, helpful answers.

Welcome aboard!

  Hi again.
I put a new Spitfire windsrceen on my bike and it works fine. Also fitted the old saddel bags from my Virago and the bike now is getting some 'character'.
Last year I found an old beet-up set of bags with a big 'V' embossed on them. The leather was all dried up but cleaned up O.K..Then treated the leather with 'Mink Oil'. Best part, the bags cost me $10.00. They will do fine untill I find a set that works better on this bike.
Any one have a recomendation for bags?

I would like to thank the person who posted on how to change the fork lock out. I've ordered up a new fork lock assembly.

Still haven't had a chance to take pics and forcast is for rain off and on for the next few days. So, it may be a while for pics.

                                    'till later,
                                                Ridemore Smiley
