Serow, don't forget 140/80-15 is stock for rear, but of course the 140/90-15 will work fine. Just sayin' where he won't get confused.

I'm using Dunlop 491s on mine with no complaints. I'm not positive but I think they may have discontinued them for another line (at least in the sizes for a Savage). My next set could be Metzeler ME880s, unless somebody has a better alternative reply to your query here. Everyone I've heard using them likes them.

Thanks for the suggestions. Gives me some food for thought, for when the time comes when replacement is necessary. Tires are pretty decent right now on the bike I'm picking up today so I'm good for now.
