Biltwell Z bars
05/11/12 at 18:53:38
I've been looking for a straight answer but no luck. I'm looking to put a set of Biltwell Z bars ( 5" rise ) on my 2011 S40. From what I understand bikes with buckhorns would have no issues, but mine came with the OE drag bars. Are the cables long enough?
Secondly in order to mount these can I use the stock piece holding the drag bar, but with out the risers or should I get a set of after market risers?

You're gonna have to try to know.
what works for some doesn't work for others.
for sure you can take off the risers from the clamps and it should work.
but those bars and the risers may be too tight.
buck horn cables are an inch or two longer.

I have Z bars and I like them alot!
Edit: My cables fit fine. Idk if they are quite 5 inches but they are close with plenty of cable left.

I replaced the brake and clutch cables with cables from buck horn bikes and found them to be about 4" longer.

Just a heads up, "zed" is only said, not spelled. Just as you don't type out zee for "Z" or double-yoo for "W" the English don't type out zed, that's just how they pronounce it.

Go ahead and take that up with Biltwell and their Grammar department:

Heh, that's pretty funny. I've only seen them listed as 'Z' bars. Apparently they are the ones that know what zed is.
