While I'm swapping the piston... has anyone done a tech report on this procedure?

I see alot of this larger piston talk going about. And i have a question if you all are informed and can answer.

Does the larger piston require a rebore? In my head a rebore would require a lathe and some trimming.

Or is there a sleeve that changes the size of the bore, Ive seen references to both but I am confused.
