Left foot-peg slightly bent...
05/09/12 at 15:45:22

I dropped it the first week I had it trying to do a slow U-turn on my neighborhood road (wheels went off the asphalt, about a 2" dip to the grass...you can picture the rest  Lips Sealed). I bent the left foot peg a little (shifter is fine).  I started to try to straighten it, but I'm not sure what's under the rubber cover, and I'd rather leave it bent for a while than break it off.

It *looks like* the peg is built into the shifter pedal assembly (it is spring-loaded with a pin, but I don't see a way to unscrew the pin).  Am I missing something here?  And is the peg a universal kind of part, or something I have to specifically order from Suzuki?  It's a 2005 S40.

Cheers,
Dave

There's a plastic cap covering the bolt just like what's on the handlebar clamps.  squirt a little penetraiten oil on the backside where the threads are.

once off, the inside plate comes off.

Core is 16g rectangular tubing, top seam not welded. You aren't going to break it. Put it in the vise, put a cheater pipe on the handle and go for it.

Peg itself is a bit of an oddball. Suzuki only, HD and the other metrics won't fit. Bike Bandit beats stealership on the price.
