BRAKES
05/08/12 at 10:10:20

I boght a 2011 suzuki boulevars ls650 new from the dealership. Since I have had the bike (about 2 months) I have put 450 miles on it. The brakes began squeeling after about 100 miles and have continued ever since. Does anyone have any insight into this? If so do you have a solution. Any help is much appreciated.

thanks

Front or back?... are they worn out?...
Backs last forever if you ride right... and rarely use them...
Check the fronts by shining a flashlight between the rotor and caliper,.. see what's left of 'em...

Simplist cure is to wash the brake dust off... offen.

Next is to drive off bad mojo by heating the brakes by braking.  A few hard stops will do it.

Stock pads squeal easily, I use a pads made from kevlar, which is trademarked name so it gets interesting finding pads using the generic name "organic".

Also drilling is supposed to cure too.

Since my bike still is not running and I have not tested my pretty new rotor, have you found this to be true versy?

Thanks guys for all the advice. I called the dealership and they said it was proboly just break dust and to buy some break cleaner and douse the whole front brake with it. So I did. I took it for a test ride just up the street and back and so far no more squeal. Thanks again.
P.s.
Does anyone know if Ed is still selling the forward controls?

Replace the pads with after market pads I did at 100 miles,No more noise. My last suzuki was the same thats why I know the best thing is to replace them.I had a lot of bikes and they never were noisey.
