Tall Guy wants new bars
05/01/12 at 12:46:56

Hello all. I just purchased a 1997 savage and am looking to do some custom work to it . My first action is to get rid of those horns and replace with a set of drag bars. I have heard alot of discussion about risers and tank clearance and wanted to know if anyone had any advice. I really want a low straight set with little or no pullback. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Too narrow & youll be looking at your shoulders in the mirrors, wide enough to not do that & would your wrists be okay?
Deep sockets for risers work,

A fabricator who is also a member of this board makes up some sick looking bars...

The straight shots are what I am looking for. Think I am gonna order them. Any tips on replacing bars or is pretty straight forward?

I thought it was really straight forward. Mine were much taller & wider, so I ended up extending wiring, new cables and brake line. As long as you don't go too extreme it's almost plug-n-play  Grin (you will have to file off the tab on the stock hand controls though)
