Sounds serious...  I'd see a doctor... Huh...

Honestly,... never heard of such a thing...
Between brass and aluminium,  I'm not sure which will strip out first...
Pull the idle mix screw, and check the threads... if they're okay, you're in trouble,...'cause I'm guessin' the pot is stripped...

Puzzling... is this the original idle mix screw?...

I do not know, unfortunately, bought it like a dummy and didn't ask many questions.

But Ill pull that bitty out and see whats up. It runs fine, just got a raptor after the stock pet gave up, and just did a rejet and spacer for fun, was running a 145 now a 150. Runs way smoother and stronger than before, but still would like to tune that thing. But after a little victory lap from all my upgrading it did shut down with a nice kerpop.

Not havin the screwdriver in the slot can be a problem,, I hope you were gentle with it when it bottomed out.

Ack!  Unless it's a very good single malt (which is pretty much outside my budget), drinking scotch is like drinking hair.
