I say go ahead and paint them to match the bike, and then put some stenciling back on there.

Since youll be painting, you could drag up any old marker lite off a semi ( as long as its an amber lens) & hook them up.

Heeeeck Yaaah! Coupla them with 1157 sockets in them & wire it up like tail lites on a car,.,get signals & brake lites all in one little lamp.

All you need is a trailer wiring converter for a car that has seperate brake & turn signals.You can get them at any parts store. I have one on my Savage for the trailer I pull, but on my other bike I replaced the turn signals with some surface mount LED brake/turn signal/tail lights & used one on it too. I made a wiring harnes that supplies power to them & a trailer light plug also. Works great! Shocked
