im going to go ahead and order the raptor 660 petcock for my savage. one question, whats the best way to plug the vac line fitting on the carb?

my fav dead cat huh? that must be some slang i dont know about lol, but for real whats the best way? i was thinking i would tig weld it closed with a copper-zinc rod, but theres got to be a easier, trustable way...

Autozone has caps to plug your carb. Just tell 'em what you're doing & they'll fix you up.

Serious... I found a tapered screw, ... that tapped in snug, without boogering the the outer of the brass nipple...
Perfect... completely reversible, and fully secure... then I covered the screw with a rubber nipple for cosmetic dressing...
I tried several rubber covers, and they all seem to rot away after a period of months...
so, close it good... Wink...

you might look in a hardware store for a copper tubing cap.
fill it up with rtv and shove it on.

i just did this last night and for the time being a went a lil ghetto fabulous and cut most of the stock tube, rolled it up and put two zip ties on it.

i'll be getting a rubber plug once i get to the store again

Yep....sometimes ghetto be good...

Here's what I'm rocking on my bike:





I squirted some RTV into the tube before folding it.  The tube was the OEM vacuum tube.
