Does anyone have any tips on the best way to go about this?

I don't have a motorcycle lift/stand, and am thinking that the back end will need to come up just a bit to swap them out.

It would be stock shocks swapped with stock shocks.

Can I do it alone? or should I get a friend to help? I don't want to mess anything up.

Set shocks on bike to highest preload, replacements at lowest. Do one at a time & it won't sag so much you can't lift it. When you get first new shock on raise the preload on it.

Or slide some wood stacked under the right side while on the side stand, then tilt it to the right & slide a matching stack under left side.

Either way will work, just do them one at a time.
