exhaust manifold leakage?
04/12/12 at 12:55:00

Hi,
This hasn't caused a problem or anything, but on start, I notice that there is a noticeable amount of smoke (or is vapor) that comes out of the area around the join of the exhaust and the manifold of the cylinder. I don't notice it as much when the bike is running for some time. Is this common?

Thanks!

Have you snugged those bolts?
Note, I didnt say TIGHTened, becuase they arent meant to take much torque.
Only do it when its cold, leave the caveman at home, take the secretary for this. IIRC,, , its like 12 foot pounds? Check it out before you go do itl.,

& you mite be ahead to pull one, clean it up, put it back, pull the other one,,, clean it up..

Cant torque or feel how a bolt is acting if its half stuck from oxidation.
