Any idea which it is? I thought they were both the same, although when I look at a parts fiche for a 2006 it is called out as an ls650.

S40 it is, 'though, amusingly, I have the owners manual that came with my '07, and it says "LS650" on the cover; and various of the drawings inside are clearly of an S40.

In any case, you're going to love the TKat. FWIW, my $.02 on removing the plastic fork guards: tapping front-back-front-back, etc., with a piece of wood & a hammer, you can lift them off the lowers then cut them with a pair of scissors. If you do a whole lot of anal-retentive fidgeting with the installation (I did), it may take you all of half an hour. Enjoy!
