K&N or Uni filter ??
03/20/12 at 21:20:18

Amigos,

On my Ryca, I'm looking at either a RU-1090 K&N or a Uni foam filter to keep the street tracker look.   I want the long tube shaped ones that angle down and/or out.   I've had K&N's before and they're nice, any notes on either?

K/N's are sexy... but the Uni will filter better...
I'd go with Uni....  but,... I have a K/N right now...

I bet that was helpful?... Huh

Uni-foam is easier to clean and filters better...
I have a K/N because I butchered a K/N car filter to fit the stock filter frame...
My experience has been mostly with foam filters.... with them, you can oil them up, and squeeze out the excess... then it's perfectly oiled... with a K/N,.. you just have to guess at how much oil...
I'm a pretty good guesser, after years of oiling foam filters, but... oiled foam and squeeze, is a sure thing...

Go K/N for looks... Go Uni for performance/practicality...
Wink

.. or,... whatever you think?... Huh....

I like both.  I think the K&N looks better and works pretty well.
The Uni does filter better as Serowbot said and also costs less.
