Highway Bars
03/14/12 at 08:43:59

I just purchased an S40, and cannot find highway bars that will be a good fit for this bike.  The Suzuki version are "engine case guards," and are too small - I am looking for something that will protect more of the bike, and me! However, proper fit is a major concern.  Any ideas?

Most bars will only really protect from falling over... in an accident at speed they'll fold...
I've even heard of large ones folding, and pinning a guys leg to the cylinder in an accident...

Cop bikes have pretty heavy duty ones, that will hold up better, but I can't imagine anything that large on a Savage...

Maybe custom made?...

Wingerline makes the best one I've found for the Savage.  It's what I use.

While this photo wasn't taken for this purpose, it should give you an idea as to how it looks on the bike.

Yeah, I always thought calling anything on a vehicle "crash" anything was kind of like asking the universe what else could go wrong.  Just don't do that.
