Want to replace them with mushroom head hex bolts? Cant quite get one out to check without removeing the rear tire(140/90) size

Can you get a wrench on the nut? If so, the place that sells nuts & bolts will let ya slap a wrench on a nut, then, whatever bolt fits that nut, fits your bike, thread pitch is no big deal, length? Guess, take some longer than you need, buy some stuff,, take back what yua dont use, or toss it in a drawer,, Thats how I do stuff like this. Id rather waste a coupla bucks buying bolts I dont need ( today, heck, mite need them in a month) than get in a sweat about knowing exactly what I need.

Yeah i can get a wrench on the bolt, just cant get it out without takeing off the tire.
If i could get the bolt out i could do a size check, done it many many times before.
But if i take the tire off then i cant go to town to get the d@mn bolts i need.

Ill get it done. Just thought someone might remember what size mushroom head they changed theirs out for. Got to get rid of them stock bolts with a larger rear. Rubs on the bumps and makes it impossible to ride two up.

Takeing the wrench wont work unless im looking for the same bolts. Dont give me the correct thread size for the bolts either.

I just thought someone might remember the size they used when they replaced their OEM bolts with mushroom heads.
Guess ill do it the hard way.

Yes, I am listening, do what I said & youll have the bolt Size, then get a mushroom headed one that size,m,dang,, I really didnt think I would have to spell out every step,
Here, let me just do the whole ride,, wrench on bolt, go to store, find bolt that fits wrench, get nut that fits bolt, take nut to the bolt style you want section, find bolt that fits nut,,

I may have it written down someplace. If so, I'll pass it along. Lifting the bike allows the swingarm to drop and gives you more room to work, if you haven't done that already.

No Justin YOUR NOT listening!
For one thing even IF the wrench fit the bolt head it dont mean the thread size/count is even close. Great way to screw up the threads on the fender rails.
I AM thinking, trying to avoid a lot of extra work AND expense. I cant afford to go buying half a dozen different sized bolts to find some that fit.
And theres NO WAY your working on my bike.

Vers, if i could get my x-large hand back in there to get one out i would'nt be asking for the size....lol
I can 'almost' get the left rear bolt out. Bumps up against the tire before i can get it all the way out.
Looks like its going to be one of them hurry up n wait jobs.

None in the owners manual either.
Im just going to have to drop the shocks and lift the bike to get room to get em out. Then wait till the old lady gets home with the truck to go get the RIGHT SIZED Bolts.
More light of an evening so i might be able to get it done in one day.

Sorry, I couldn't find anything on the bolt sizes. I went through all my old posts on the subject too. I did find that I had managed to scrape up my hands pretty well before I decided to lift the bike and disconnect the shocks to let the rear wheel drop. If I remember correctly, and it's been a while so I can't guarantee that, the saddlebag supports came with slightly longer bolts than the stock fender rail bolts. That said, I wouldn't use any specs from a parts manual for a stock bike. You're doing it right. Pull the dang things and take 'em with you. You can be a pioneer though and post the sizes for posterity. Now don't you feel special?
