Oppinion on Round Mirrors...
02/15/12 at 20:11:29

I'm looking to buy some replacement round mirrors for my Savage. The square ones just look a bit... off...

However I want to compromise as little visibility as possible. I found these... but its says the head is ABS plastic.

Then there were these, which are all metal, but only have a 4" mirror compared to the 5" above.

Opinions?

Wake, I get the feeling this could be another tire or oil war. Mine came with some rectangle chrome EMGO, I believe. The are getting a little grungy, so I may paint them black. If I mess up another set is less than $20 and some are less than $15. I know folks who are happy with the plastic. Happy hunting.

Da erf is round,... so round mirrors show ebryting... Huh...

Square, round, trapezoidal,... not really the issue..
What matters is the amount of convex (wide angle) to the glass...
Too much, and everything is tiny specks... not enough, and you see nostrils...
Don't buy mirrors that show (actual size)... bike mirrors are too small to be useful that way.  ...but, really wide angle mirrors are not useful either...
Best to hold them at arms length, and see what you can see...

I think the biggest difference between the two you have posted is the length of the arm.
The second mirror IS smaller, but it will hang out wider, and that may give you a better view than a larger mirror that only shows you your elbows....

I put one of those little convex mirrors in the upper outside corner of both of my stock mirrors.  Don't do that.  They suck.

Good to know.  I was wondering if those worked.
