Cam chain is in the center (I think). You would definitely need a custom cam.

Unfortunately,... he's put a lot of engineering into creating the traditional Harley, rear cylinder problem... overheating...
You shouldn't have the exhaust port at the rear of an air-cooled engine...

Sorry, Serow, I must contradict you.

Eyewitness news: Ducatis have the rear cylinder with the exhaust port looking back ever since they came out with the belt-driven OHC Desmos.

As if THAT weren't enough, Borile, a "quasi-Buell" Italian equivalent, uses a custom made 450cc single originating from the rear cylinder only of the 900cc twin.

Rather, the guys is using the wrong kind of air filter; looks nice and shiny, but actually pushes air away from the intake...

Nope. The early belt dive ducatis had the exhaust port on the rear head facing the front. The 750 Paso was the first reversed head ,in 86 I think. Same engine as 750 F1 but for the head. No problems but they needed to incorporate oil cooling to keep the rear exhaust port temp down. The reverse head was just so they could use a automotive 2bbl carb and a big airbox under the tank.
I have 1 with the head on right, 1 with a backward head. Neither give any trouble. HD has the rear cylinder bathing in hot air from the front one, Ducati not so.

Love the borile. If I had lots of money.....

I've often wondered why anyone would build a backwards-looking engine. It seems like common sense would put the intake in the airstream and the exhaust out the back. I think you're right though.
