You know ,  you can put a larger front pulley on and keep the belt !

If a higer top speed is what your looking for ,  the stock is 23 teeth and Kawasaki ((EN?))454's and 500's have the same spline and have 25 teeth.

The thread called  "Left over part"  ,   its a resent discovery .    Wink

I'm a little thick on this whole gearing thing so . . . If I switch to a 25 tooth front gear I'll get better gas mileage? if so is there a different gear available somewhere to get to 26+ teeth?

Jack

increasing the diameter/teeth on the front sproket lets the engine run at a lower rpm at higher speeds..
trade off is some loss to low gear take off speed..
think 1 tooth increase in the front =3 teeth less in the rear

theres been alot of discussion for gear ratios and chain conversions in the tech section you may have to change the search time function to get to some of the older posts..
