Warped swingarm?

Could someone with the rear wheel already off measure the distance between the inside surfaces of the plates where the axle goes through. Mine is about 238mm.
I had welding done on my swing arm and the welder said that the heat might have caused the thin metal to warp. He thinks the opening for the axle might have shifted.

How does the wheel fit now?

Why didnt the welder put a spacer in it? Dilbert,,,,If he thot it could pull, he shoulda made sure it didnt,,
