Ngk..and I don't get it either. Old spark plug has a skinny metal stud on the cap end, iridium one has a much thicker cap end. Won't fit into the cap

maybe you missed my post, but re-read and take some pliers to those ends to see if you can't twist off the adapter thingies.
... i really hope i'm right and don't cause you to maul up your plugs, but it has been this way with my last eight plugs on three different bikes.

So you just had to twist the nipple off? Hey, you asked. The idiot is too proud and just returns it.

Doh! The wife knows! Okay, so it'll take a while to wear off. How's the bike now?

Ah, it's 11;45 here, Will install tomorrow after work and update.
I had her taking pics for me, so yea..she knows. Then again she's owned a VR-4 and a Miata with an LS1 in it. She knows her stuff.

That's actually pretty cool. My wife would probably be hard pressed to pick out which was a spark plug from a half dozen various parts, so it's not something we can share. Good for y'all!

i'd bet you'd be hard pressed to find any of us on this forum (or any mechanic anywhere in the world) who didn't have one of these moments.

Yes, and it cleaned up the weird "stuttering" at about 50-55...new plug helped a ton too.
This weekend will be rebuilding carb and oil change time.
