seems to be the culprit as of now, weird thing is that it doesn't leak when on the reserve position...so that's where it's staying until my new one comes in.

still going to rebuild carb with a friend so I can finally learn those things.

also, thanks Bill, sea foam worked great, def. could tell a difference as soon as I put it in there.

Yeah, I hate relying on the vacuum and hoping for no problems that spill raw fuel into the cylinder.  Simple install, easy/reliable operation - and it doesn't scrape the frame every time you remove the tank.

Be sure to block the vac port on the carb after you install the raptor.

Yeah, I had modified my Amal Mk2 to provide vacuum to the stock petcock and then had to plug it.

all parts are in, but darn the luck if it isn't my late shift tonight.  stuck at my desk until 9...oh well, working on it tomorrow after work.

do we need pics of spark plug change, oil change or petcock replacement?

I'm not sure I ever saw a raptor petcock replacement picture. Either way, if you're willing, not a bad idea to document them anyways. you might capture another "simple" step or angle that makes it easier to understand to a newbie.

so here's my fun night:

Changed out petcock, easy quick, awesome.

Go to change out spark plug while I'm at it, since the tank is dry. Take everything off, and it seems to me that my spark plug cap isn't made to take the newer Iridium style....so uh, what can I do?

Searched the forum to no avail...

I don't know what you mean by newer style, so maybe you got a different iridium plug than I did.  Mine was just fine (i.e. not a different form factor).  I am using the NGK DPR8EIX-9.  It looks basically like this.

I think you might have been tripped up by what got me when I got new plugs.

you see, some plugs have added on little caps to the plug cap end. the end of the plug that sticks out to the air (as in, doesn't fire in the bike) should be threaded. if it isn't, there is an adapter cap thingy on there that you have to pull off.

see plug here with the thingy on it:

different plugs, but you get the idea. it is just some stupid cap thing to make you go: DOH!
