Airhawk?
01/04/12 at 23:45:40

Does anyone use an Airhawk cushion on their ride? I'm pondering what to do about the unacceptable factory s40 seat. My plans are to install my Dyna pipe w/ adapter and Harley clamps, forward controls (when Routy has them ready) Rejet if necessary, maybe a superbrace and wider bars.

Does anyone use an Airhawk cushion or something similar?

Anyone use wider bars? If so, how wide can I go before I need longer cables?

                                                      Thanks,

Just putting the Airhawk on top of the seat didn't work for me.  Felt like I was hatching an egg.

So, I built it into the seat (tore a spare seat down to the pan, and built it back up around the Airhawk).
Very comfy, and got me riding.

It finally gave up the ghost after about 70k miles.  Went back to the stock seat, and am doing OK on that so far.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

I put on the Airhawk 2 and rode with it for about 800 miles.  I found I had too much air in it at the beginning - didn't feel natural.  Let nearly all the air out and comfort level went up significantly.  At the end of the summer I did the seat raise mod and haven't ridden with the Airhawk since.  Although not a complete waste of cash - sometimes I'll throw it in the front seat of my car for long drives.  Helps there.

I have them on both Savages and they work good for me. cover has been the problem, i end up tearing the retaining loops free when I drag my foot over the seat. Have to mount that was as have GIVI trunks where the pillion usually goes. Max
