Sylvania Silverlight Ultra

I replaced the stock H4 with the Sylvania Silverstar Ultra and the difference was remarkable. Their website said that they were designed for high output not lifespan and suggested that they will last about a year. The amount of light for the amount of work and the difference in cost means I will be using the Ultras from now on.

I've had the original Sylvania Silverstar in my Savage for the last 5 years -- still waiting for it to croak.

I put a Piaa Plasma in mine- supposed to be the brightest 55w bulb on the market. Big difference from stock. Oncoming cars sometimes flick their lights when I have it on low beam.

Would this be something I can pickup at autozone? If so, which model do I need?
Thanks!

It's a PIAA Powersport Super Plasma GT-X. Part#70476, model#H-383SE. 60/55w equivalent to 135/125w. I think I paid about $50 CAD for it.
The Powersport designation means it's vibration resistant.
It's not exactly legal, but I am reasonably sure the Powlice don't have the capability to test them. I just keep it focused properly. Wink

Just so's you know. Vehicle lights lose power (brightness) with time. I have noticed over the years when a car bulb goes out and I replace it the new bulb is much brighter than the old.  I replaced my Savage bulb with a Sylvania from Wal Mart for about $6. Don't know what it's called, but it is brighter.

I went to a sylvania from stock,it was quite a difference.i liked it but decided to install an HID kit this summer,I use HID lights on my bike and my pickup.you can install a 35watt kit and get way more light than a 55w halogen light will give you.i like the color of the Hid Lights too, everything reflective down the road lights up really bright with them at night.

I got four years on mine. I am still pleased by the difference over stock.

Well, I'm trying to replace my headlight. But I can't figure out how this stupid clamp (bent paperclip) looking thing keeps the light in. It's really making me angry. I wanna just bend it.

Patience ez, stop and look and study, maybe have a beer or 3 and you will figure it out. If not take it to a shop and they will show you.

Here ya go

The bulb is retained by that clip, the clip swings open and the bulb is inserted into the hole.  Don't touch the bulb!  Swing the clip back and push the free end down and into a notch.
