Reportedly, it's the old Kendahl plant and they make the oil to the old spec's.

And this is in the rubber side down section why?? Not that its a big deal.

Versy's all bored again, and he is offering us all the chance to kick off another erl war -- all that is required now is for some idiot to say something about their favorite erl, this here old time original formulation Pennsylvania type erl, or some other better sort of erl, or say that they don't like any sort of erl at all and that they really prefer $13 a quart fresh squeezed red virgin clutch juice instead.

Rotella as sold in the USA has 1200 ppm of ZDDP in all formulations.   We are still "marginally safe" over here in the USA.

Beware if you are in Europe however, since your laws are different and more restrictive in some countries.  Rotella T1 is sold in these countries and it only has 500 ppm of ZDDP in it by law -- and ROTELLA T1 IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR A SAVAGE ENGINE ACCORDINGLY.

German Beemer forums are up in arms over their lawmakers making scrap iron out of their flat tappet older BMW bikes and cars ....

Also be aware that the Corvair and Corvette forums have taken each brand of oil off their approved flat tappet oil listings as soon as they drop below 1500 ppm on ANY of their oils.  (they don't want you having to guess)

Valvoline Racing Oil and the new stuff Verslagen just found and Royal Purple Extreme Racing are about the only regular dino oils still good enough for Corvairs and flat tappet older Corvettes.

It doesn't say anything about zero wear.The only oil I know of with zero wear is the newest Klotz.And really why would you want your engine to have wear.

Meanwhile, I went to the dealer to get some brake fluid and fork oil, and grabbed a few quarts of Suzuki branded motor oil. The Savage isn't a high performance bike, and mine isn't going to rack up a lot of miles, so unexceptional oil is fine for me.
