I'd use a deep metallic brown that would look like a darker shade of the color of the bike. Dark enough to contrast with the primary color, but light enough to not look black.

Anything besides black always looks custom. The black will just look like a stock frame, soI say if you're going to do it, do it in color...

wow that gold bike looks awesome. When I tore my bike down last fall I wanted to paint the frame red and when I did I thought it would be too loud in color contrast but now I regret it after seeing a similar bobber in a mag with a red frame. Definitely not black. So now I m doing the same thing...tearing her back appart and doing what I should have done.
