Why do my shoes smell funny?

I've been riding with these same pair of shoes for almost 5k miles, and I've owned them for over 6 years. I checked the Clymer's guide and came up with nothing. Search returned zilch. Nothing on Google. I do change my socks regularly and am pretty hygienic...

I dunno, I just thought maybe you guys would know since it says "ASK QUESTIONS HERE".
