Bot saved my bacon-again.
11/16/11 at 18:00:36

I have been riding for over 50 years, and I am still amazed at the stupid things that I am able to do.  When I went into breakfast this morning, I turned off my bike with the kill switch, and then forgot to turn off and remove the key.  You guessed it, when I came out, the battery was a dead doornail.  Who you gonna call?  I called Bot.  He came over in his Geo Metro, and in five minutes, jumped the battery back to life.( He even gave me a small alligator clip to put in the post so that the cable clamp would have something to grab. If is now in my side bag.)

A big thanks Serowbot.  It is oh so good to have friends.

See? and people think that the members on the forum only blow smoke.

glad to know we put our money where our mouth is in real life too.

here's to serowbot and the many others who translate from internet friends into real life life-savers.

I cut a small hole in the top of my battery box and ran a wire connected to the positive side of the battery  thru the hole. Covered it with a plastic electrical cap. Now if I need a jump, I don't have to remove the seat and side cover and battery box. Just hook the negative side of the jumper cables to the rear axle and off you go!

Must be a difference in years...  When her Savage needs a jump, we just pull the cover, and slide it out a bit.  Neg goes to the starter mount...  This is on a 95.  So what is it supposed to look like?    Embarrassed

I've cooked dinner like that before.  Long ago when driving all over California hauling guitars, amps, etc., to dances/parties/shows, we put cans of beans, chili, spaghetti-o's, etc, up on the intake manifold so when we got there dinner would be all hot and ready.   One time a can of chili exploded, but usually the procedure worked okay.

I'm thinking just wrap it in tinfoil and lay it on the exhaust anywhere pretty much and let the bike idle (after a ride of course). Baked/Fried bacon!
