No offense dude, but why would you care what anyone else thinks of what you wear?
A co-worker ask me why I didn't ride a Harley? I laughed and said that I could afford the bike but I couldn't afford all that clothing. I swear if they printed Harley logos on briefs in a week people would be wearing them om their heads in place of bandanas.
There are people who ride for the love of riding and then there are people who ride for the love of being 'seen' riding.
Wear what you want, where you want, when you want. The cagers don't care what you are wearing...they just wish they were you!
And if it still bothers you drop a .45 in it Smiley

I have one of those, zip tied to my handlebars,... but I don't wear it...

It's not really a fashion decision, ... I just don't want to lug all that crap around...  (coins, flashlight, screwdriver, sunblock, lighter, multi-tool, magnifying glass, pencil, kleenex, ... kitchen sink, foil hat, treasure map...
Huh...

Have you ever had a cop pull you over and search through it?

4th Amendment, there better not have been any cops looking through his fanny pack.

Without a warrant, no cop would be looking through my toolbag, or saddlebags.

What I meant was "ask to search it WITHOUT probably cause"... I've had cops asked to search my van because one of the tail brake lights was out.. I said no, you don't have my consent... he said I would be detained till a K-9 unit arrived to sniff around the vehicle... it's not a white van with tinted windows either...... tax dollars hard at work...

Ah, well that's different.

I would bet A LOT of cops have tried that, and gotten away with it.

Too many people aren't aware of even their most basic rights.

I'm aware of my rights, that's why they pulled the "we'll detain you till the K-9 unit arrives" garbage.. I don't know if they actually would do it or were just pissed that I knew my rights.. anyways, I was in my work boots, covered in plaster, gravel, and mud from working at a construction site all day, it was my mom's mini-van with a baby seat in the back... obvious I had been working all day...

And this brings me to off topic my own thread.. when you're pulled by a cop on your motosickle do they usually ask to search your saddle bags/back packs/what not? Is it legal to refuse just for a speeding ticket or something minor like that?

Only been stopped twice,... never searched..

I''ve also never had anything taken from my bike,... even though I leave the helmet, gloves, coat, even purchases in plastic shopping bags, and half the time I forget and leave the keys in it... ... although, I've caught many people looking and even touching... and once, a woman giving her kids pretend rides on it...

(kinda' disappointing, really)... my stuff must really suck... Huh...

I see that you know your rights, I'm just saying for the populous in general.

I haven't been pulled over yet on the bike, so I'm not sure if a cop would ask to search.
Your 4th amendment rights apply to your bags just like it would to the trunk or interior of an automobile. Same thing with a backpack (or fanny pack as it were) if you were stopped as a pedestrian. Same thing applies to entering your domicile.
It's definitely legal for you to refuse for them to look in your bags and definitely illegal for them to look without a warrant or reasonable probable cause.

Isn't it so darn twisted that a statement like that rings so true?

The police are supposed to be a force to protect the citizenry. It's not supposed to be an arm of government collecting revenue through fines, and bullshit. The fact that there are QUOTAS for arrests, meaning a MINIMUM amount of people should be arrested every month, is insane. I can see why the Occupy Wall Street movement has become a global movement. The vast majority of us have allowed ourselves to be trampled upon by men in suits making deals behind closed doors.
Will that change any time soon? No. Too many are complacent and will do as told.
