My grips arrived
they fit with no problems.
look like K's that I fooled with for someone else.
recommend some blue locktite on the screws.
Mine are in the mail headed to me. I've never swapped grips, so figure it out and let me know the best way to proceed ok?

The throttle side is easy, just remove and replace.
clutch side is always fun
worst case... cut it off, however I don't recommend it. they are reuseable.
I stick 3 skinny phillips screwdrivers in under the grip to break the glue bond.
stick the 1st one in and rotate all the way around. stick the other two in and twist the whole grip off.
some say hairspray will loosen the glue and prepare it for the next grip.
some say air pressure will help break the glue bond.
Now, so far I haven't been able to get the throttle sleeve to adhere to the grip. I'm going to get desperit and actually get some grip glue.

So is glue absolutely necessary to put on new grips? I've only put grips on bicycles before... I think I'm gonna get those death grips I linked, since I scratched the nuts out of one of my stock end caps.

Mine are going on a new to me set of mini-apes that were taken off a 2001 HD FXDWG (once they get here and I figure out my new cable situation) - I love eBay

If you're R&Ring a grip with a similar grip, I haven't bothered to add more glue. What's there was enough to keep the grip on.
With these new grips, the fit on the throttle tube is too loose for just a bit of residual glue to work.

From your speculation, will I need glue to replace my stock grips with these?

A simple "maybe" would have worked... you didn't have to get technical

I'd be concerned how well the cable end stays on.
that's the only thing holding our grips on.
