How can you tell if you have enough oil?

Follow the oil-level-checking instructions in the manual.   Wink Wink Wink Wink

Autozone price in the ATL area for a gallon of Rotella is $26 and $17 for synth and dino.  Walmart is a little less but often doesn't have the synth.

Yep, Rot Syn is right popular with a lot of folks and it does run out a fair portion of the time at my local Walmart as they never seem to have more than a case (4 gallons) at a time.

What I do then is go on line to Walmart.com and place an order for 2 gallons of Rot Syn to be delivered to the store nearest to me -- the main net.warehouse generally has the stuff on hand and ships it immediately to the local store, where they give me a call to say its here.

Follow the oil-level-checking instructions in the manual.

Now, I read my manual as per your suggestion and it says 2.5 quarts at oil change.

So, I just measure out my Rot Syn and dump it in?

How does RYCA tell you to check your oil?
After all, your shocks are different now, your wheel sizes are different now  --- nothing that makes that oil pool "level" to any of the pre-existing methods remains the same any more on a RYCA modded bike.

So, OF, your saying if your wheels are different sizes, or the bike is jacked up or down, the viewing window will be rotated... kinda like checking level if you were on an incline.... So I guess the engine needs to be positioned to the "original Savage flat-line" (??)

But does the "amount" of oil follow the same path on the Ryca bikes?  Was anything added or taken away?  If not, then it should be the same volume, right?

Take an aquarium, put 4 inches of water in it. on the left end, draw a circle that has the top of the water in it,, now, lift the left end of the tank,, where does the water go?

Babyhog, I dunno -- I have not got a Ryca bike to tell you.

Our front was 21", our rear was 15" our shocks are about 9.5" tall.

Ryca is different on all of the above items, so that window will show a different picture with the same amount of oil ....

..... or have a different amount of oil when showing the same picture,

which is the same difference either way.

Which is why I wuz asking.

I got 12.5" shocks w/stock front...  2 Quarts still puts it in the middle window with oil/filter change...
I usually add a smidge more to run at the upper end of the window...

I don't check on the kickstand because of shocks and hockey puck kickstand...
Plus, I wouldn't want to run with my oil that high anyway...
Might slow me down, churning through that extra oil... Grin...

Won't be any churning if you stay below the oil shelf, but the only way I know to verify that on a modded bike like a Ryca is to do a hot test.

Curious if any of the Ryca boys have done so or can even tell us their correct oil level methodology (the official gospel according to Ryca) and what it yields on a hot test.

Mebbe Ryca has gotten it right
-- good lord knows Suzuki has a ongoing conflict between their test method and the amount of oil they say goes into the sump ...
