Well, having it in hand and holding it -- do you feel like the $89 Crosman Nitro was a worthy pick for the Oldfeller "grab it now" recommendation?

Not having a lot of experience with these things, it's hard to say.
I feel I've gotten my money's worth...
The proof is in the pudding
so far it's a beautiful site, let's see how it tastes.

You need some basic springer knowledge, easy stuff like do not lube with petroleum oil products, only use pure silicone oils (springers are like diesel engines, when they go thump they elevate the air temperature way up past the ignition/explosion point on any petrol oil).

Next, NEVER dry fire the gun (never cocke the barrel) without putting a pellet in it -- if accidentally fired without a pellet in the bore the piston will not have any resistance and will dead end the piston seal into the front end of the chamber destroying the urethane seal instantly ...

Next, hit your search engine with "lubricating pellets"   "lubed pellets for magnum springers"  "Pellet leading in magnum springers"  and read up on the great leading debate.    It's real -- I have already leaded my Ruger Air Magnum up twice and am now running only lubed pellets.

Type Silicone Oil into Ebay and you will find lots of weights of silicone oils for RC truck shocks -- something around 30 weight is OK for your air gun and you can buy 2 ounces of RC shock oil for less than you pay for a quarter ounce of Crosman Silicone Chamber oil.   I lube my pellets with 30 wt RC silicone oil and it does help with the leading issues.

You don't think "heat" and "friction" about air guns, until you diesel one for the first time -- sounds jest like a .22 rifle going off.
