They got a great review in Motorcycle Consumer News.  I was considering one this summer but they were not in stock when I needed one.

I have seen these batteries at shop and they are crazy light.  They are supposed last up to 3 years. About $145.

I'm thinking about using one for my half of the Double RYCA Build so I can have some room left over for a toolkit.  I like the light weight, as well.

The price is crazy but it's crazy light... 1.61 lbs!
And will probably fit under the swingarm on the muff bracket.

3 yrs @ $140 ?? Shocked
for weight only, I'm impressed !
for price, I'm way less than impressed, when I can get a maintenence free AGM "Big Crank" for 1/2 that price, and probably double the life.

Look at two situations:
1. Stock battery, heavy, cheap, takes up a lot of space, forces me to find some way to locate, design, and build a small storage area for a toolkit/registration/bulbs/fuses/etc.  The RYCA configuration has few alternatives for storage areas.
2. Tiny Lithium-ion battery, costs twice what a stock battery costs, very light weight, frees up storage space in existing battery box for no cost or effort.

I am at least considering the LI battery.

Your testimony makes me lean toward an LI battery.

I'm not sure where the 3 years and dead vibe is coming from... my research shows their life expectancy to be 6-7 years.  Hard to say since they haven't been around that long.
RpN, I'll have to look into the one you went with.  The insulated red and black wing-nuts are giving me goosebumps!  I love the battery box, but I wonder though, is hogging out a giant aluminum block the most efficient way to build an enclosure?

YTZ7S = 4.44" x 2.75" x 4.13", 4.6 lbs, 130CCA , 6Ah, list price $137.50

LFX14L2-BS12 = 4.45" x 3.5" x 2.28", 1.61lbs, 210CCA, 14Ah, list price $153.95

The LI is tiny, weighs next to nothing, is as powerful as stock (or more...or less depending on what you want to spend), and a little pricier according to list. Both can be mounted pretty much any which way.
HOWEVER the YTZ7S is powerful enough, much smaller than stock, much lighter than stock, and MOST IMPORTANTLY can be had on ebay for $30 for a cheapy. Unfortunately, there are no cheapy versions of the LI that i can find and none on ebay for less than $90.

Just food for thought
