How much? Can you look at the wires & see if a mouse has eaten it all up?

Sure, get it and do a build thread!   Cheesy

..says we in the peanut gallery with nothing to lose, yet are curious about this adventure/story.

But like you say, if it proves too troublesome if it can be parted out at a profit.. so the worst that can happen is you have to extract and sell the parts.  So get bike first, evaluate later.  Wink

I'd buy it.  Those CB's are pretty forgiving, and kinda bulletproof from what I've heard (never owned one).

If you do buy it, they make pretty sweet cafe racers, but if it was me I'd Kong the frame withing an inch of it's life.....

Absolutely! Restos are hot these days. Everything old is new again. Old CB's cleaned up really draw a crowd at Bike Night up here in Lowell Mass.

Versey

I had a Honda 500 four (73 mod.).   Yea it has points but they are easy and reliable.   It was bike of the year when it first came out.  Best I remember it got about 53 mpg. and had plenty of power (+- 45 HP).  And Smoth as any bike I've ever rode.

Kinda wish I would have kept it.   It wasn't agile , it was supper smoth.

I traided it for a Honda 250 Reb.   Liked the Reb. till I went up hill.

At the risk of losing you to the other side, BUY IT! if you have the time and money. I bet it will run a little with new gas and a battery. I bought an XL75 kid's bike for 150 last week Spark but no gas? Really? It's 98 here so I'm waiting for winter. You meet the nicest people on a Honda. (Or a Savage) You have the skill. They are dead simple. I am old enough to remember The first 750. Do it. Wink

Honda changes things almost every year a bike is produced for no good reason so any parts will probably have to be that year only. Unlike Suzuki and Kawasaki who tend to build the same things for decades....i learned this about hondas from experience....i would never own another Honda!!!
