Now he says he's sorry.
Boofer, what do you call the man who throws bucketfuls of bloody fish chunks into the water right off a fancy Hamptons resort hotel's beach when the surf is crowded with tourists?
(and then watches with binoculars, don't forget the binoculars)

Hey, hey! I'm sorry I brought up the oil question, even as a joke. In case the owner doesn't know, a little oil in the cylinder helps raise compression as well as offering a little lubrication.
Correct. Assuming you are going to try to get it started without taking it apart and tidying things up first, then getting some lubricant in there to before metal starts scraping against metal is mandatory.
Squirting in WD-40 or some equivalent is a good idea because (as opposed to Marvel Mystery S**t) WD-40 is lube as well as a cleaner. Also, with WD-40 types of pressurized cans, you can spray it around all over place inside the cylinder.
I'd also turn the engine over veeeerrrrrryyyy slowly for several revolutions to spread the oil around some before actually cranking it over.
Then!,..... when you do hit the starter button, have the red straw down in the spark plug hole spraying the inside of the cylinder as the piston moves up and down. Do this for a few seconds.
Put the spark plug back in and ride off into the sunset.

If you think there's good in everyone, you haven't met everyone.
