should oil in air box be cause for alarm? i know there is a a drain tube but does this mean something else is going on?

There is a large huff tube that comes from the head that goes to the filtered side of the air box that takes all blow by gases from the engine and feeds it back through the carburetor.

Oil mists come along with the blow by gases from the engine and the crap you drain from your dump tube down by the drain plug should be about a tablespoon full per oil change and it should look really really nasty.

F n war on side stand filling and how a too high level can encourage transient oil in the air box.
And you ask is it important?

well i just modded to a cone filter but im leaving the airbox on. so i wanted to make sure that this wasn't going to be something i was gong to deal with it today.

That answer implies that it IS important ....  and this is new testimony from the official list expert on
"the various associated issues"
