No, not really -- white jug dino 15w40 is jest fine for a stock savage.

When you are a beating up on the hand puppet when he's a toutin' Klutz, you gotta talk a better synthetic back at him -- and that means the blue jug Rot Syn T6.

Keep yer existing Rot T 15w40 barrel in your garage as GOOD TO GO, it will last you the rest of your riding career if you jest use it fer yer bike.

I bought pretty close to 15 gallons a few years ago,, then restocked with 8 or so last year.. the backhoe , pickup , ridin lawnmower, 4 wheeler & zuki all run on it. I woulda never found it if not for Someone ( Now who could thata been?) on this forum? Its ( IMO) the best Bang fo the buck oil purchase out there..

Yup, bang for the buck, available everywhere, can be used in everything.

5 bikes and 5 years and maybe 30k miles later all they have seen from me is rotella, and my 06 mustang (rip) and my 98 wrangler (rip).

Except My CRV has 180k and has only seen honda oil since I've owned it. 9 years and about 140k. Runs like a champ!

My 1990 Acura Legend has 230,000 miles on it and runs (completely through it from engine to exhaust pipe tip) Rot Syn T6.   Car is old enough to drink liquor and buy pistols now -- still running strong.

Fan thermostat went out on it and the fans didn't run for a bit -- no worries, Rot Syn didn't care about 350+ degrees, still a couple of hundred degrees left before syn oil even starts to take harm.

I had an old beater Datsun pickup truck that I used to put in the oil I took out of the Acura (during warranty period I changed it according to the book and kept all the barely dingy oil) and the bottom radiator hose on the truck popped on me in traffic and I drove it 3 miles home anyway.  Got so hot it melted the plastic parts in the distributor when I shut it down -- $32 worth of rotor buttons and cap and points and I was back in business as the syn oil didn't permit the engine proper to take any hurt at all.

Dino oil kills vehicles when shite like this happens -- syn oil doesn't even notice it.

Justin, I like the way you are pointing out the spammers on the list by posting it on the list itself in caps, it makes main phaser fire control response a lot quicker (and Zulu and Scotty can know to load the photon torpedoes a lot faster too).

Spray paint the barrel blue and write T6 in crayon on it. Problem solved  Tongue

Well, since no one, including bill, has made any input on the "different oil for a 250" issue, I declare the issue settled, and the issue concludes with the following statement:

A TU250 can use the same oil as an LS650, the implication
being there is no difference in oil requirements
for a 250cc bike vs a 650cc bike.

I think Bill is either afraid of you, or he's afraid of the question -- one or the other --- he's afraid of it.

Ah.  That explains it.  250s were originally 2-stroke motors, so the carbon slipperage is not sequential enough for 650s,... therefore if you buy your 650 in India (Altius Scimitar 670cc diesel) they are all multi-oil regimented,.. and,.. therefore didactically compatible with the more recent imbedments of pheromonic friction reduction polymers.

Grin

Precisely.  There is a band of viscoelastic impermeability that coincides only with the resonant philharmonic frequency of the 650cc engine (with stock cooling fins), when combined with the cheap bituminous resins found in Rotella, forms a cruft of malodorous frugality, resulting in loss of cup size, and  excessive adiabatic pressure, causing the release of hydrocarbons from one's gas cap, and ass.

That is what Bill was trying to say, but had to dumb it down a little.

Ahhhhahahahahaha. I just choked on my toast! Grin Grin

Since most his answers come out the south end of a north bound bill... I think he's constipated.  Bill a teaspoon a klotz will fix that   Grin
