Once I read about the Jason specs and the fact they don't put it on the lable for (motorcycle specific) marketing purposes, I was sold!! The label doesn't say Motorbike but the specifications on the website screams it.

The rules of a Bill Debate are that you have to Try To Answer Bill's Question if you choose to respond to it at all -- a mental challenge some times I know.

It is allowable to either explain his question or ask him to clarify his question if it isn't "legible".

Good luck -- and since it isn't a declared oil war you have to be "relatively nice" to your opponents.

Bill, I have had an issue with Quaker State Multi-weight dino oil, what was then considered a very good American brand of 10w40 dino oil that turned into jelly in the crankcase of a relatively new Ford Taurus while I was on vacation in the Tennessee mountains (headed up the 20 mile grade from Maggie Valley to Pidgeon Forge).

I have not used dino oil since that point in time as I consider the HEAT RESISTANT nature of synthetic oils to be a "very good thing" that I will not do without.

I think that any dino oil in the crankcase of a car is 1) a dangerously expensive risk and 2) a "change it very often or die" money waster.

I also think motorcycle engines get stressed more so than car engines ever do, and have opportunities to run hotter if you are running them at speed.

What's different about the oil for a 250cc vs a 650cc bike? Assume they are both aircooled and have the engine and transmission using the same oil.

For example, why would you use different oil in a Honda Rebel as opposed to an LS650?

I have run Rotella T-6 in my S40 & Vulcan 800A for a while now, and they runs strong and free. What say you?
