90 bucks seems like a good deal actually, considering how much custom motorcycle parts are. I would def go with the Tkat if I get one.

Just curious.... what is the purpose of the "shields" on the Superbrace??

I don't have a fork brace (yet) but am strongly considering one. Smiley

The shiel;ds are meant to protect the fork tubes from sand & bug guts right where the fork seals sit./

How hard are they to install? Am reasonable with tools, but not a mechanic.

I bought TKAT's brace and I love it.  I didn't really notice any bad handling when I first got the bike except at highway speed it seemed a little unstable.  I read up on it and decided on TKAT's.  It was shipped very fast and it is a great piece, very professional.  The bike is solid on the highways and much more confident in the corners.

I have been thinking about a fork brace since a while now, but I can't get friends with the thought to get rid of the bug deflectors. We got a lot of bugs around here and I don't want the fork seals to get tore up by that.

If you clean your bike on a regular basis, then it won't be a problem. I've had my TKat for 4 years and I haven't had any problems (and I don't wash my bike very often).

You can get the defectors with the super brace, they do cost extra but I think worth it.

You could probably drill and tap the Kat brace to accept the Superbrace fork protectors as well.

I wonder if it's possible to keep the S40 fork protector with the Tkat.

I also wonder if it's possible to install traditional fork protectors without removing the forks. I guess you could cut them and install them that way, but that's probably not the right way.
