They do not show an S40 for 2012. When you click on the S40, it shows a 2011. Could this be the end of the line for our beloved Savage?

If this really is the last year, then I might have to look for a used bike as a backup.

Reply #4 - 08/01/11 at 05:30:53 The TU 250 has FI- how hard would it be to adapt. It all depends what their sales figures are like. If they aren't selling well they will be discontinued, and when I visit the dealer, it appears that they have only sold one in 11 months.

Reply #5 - 08/01/11 at 13:56:15 The S40 isn't a big selling bike,the 2 dealers I know real good only sell about 1 a year,when you see a used one for sell its real low mileage.The problem with the bike is it turns to many rpms,To stiff rear suspension,Lite front end.

I would expect replacement parts will be available for years to come. Places like Ron Ayers and Bike Bandit have parts for many bikes much older than the Savage.
