New adventure for me
07/30/11 at 13:05:16

Today riding was an awesome day. When i go riding i usually turn left (west) to the hills and scenery. Today i took a right instead and went to the "big" city. My goal was to make it to my best friends house 2 cities over. Never been there on the bike. Well seeing as i have never been on the inerstates around here it was very daunting. I found a way to get there on surface street granted it took me 2x as long but i did it. Yeah me. Then i went to meet a friend i havent seen on 2 yrs. surface streets, all good. Then when it was time to leave i had a big decision to make. From whre i was i could go the longggggggg way or get on the Massachsetts Turnpike. I decided after my long drink of icy water that i was going to get on the interstate. I did it. First time on a highway!!! It was like a 10 mile ride but i did it. I am glad that i am overcoming fear on my bike. Now for the next adventure. Who knows.  Cheesy Cheesy

Way to go!  Keep doing those short trips on the intestate and you will be going the long distances in no time. The trick is to be comfortable going 60 - 70 mph. The traffic is far less daunting when you are  moving along with it.

Good for you! Short trips are nice but nothing smacks of accomplishment like a long trip. I make it a goal to do one long one a month to someplace random. Last week I went to Topeka from Kansas city for a small Chinese restraunt. Best steamed dumplings ever!

Try keeping a photo log of your bike to the different places!

getting lost is one of my specialties. I have no grout to clean but my favorite Polka is "In heaven there is no beer" that's why we drink it here.  Cheesy
