Yes it was a beautiful day and Kim did a good job of organizing the ride! A very sweet lady!  I liked how she parted the clouds on a very dreary looking morning to make it a great ride up to the mountain. Met some really cool people and look forward to riding with them again!  If the color pink plays a part in Skats recovery then Kim deserves a big hand cause she was the pinkest person I have ever seen! Skat should be running marathons in another couple of weeks if that is the case!  Kims coat was pink, her shoes were pink, her bike and helmet  had pink bunnies and rabbits all over it and most of her stuff including her pink rabbit that set on her handle bars were mostly tied on with pink yarn from the big ball she carried with her.

Sorry I couldn't make it. Looks like everyone had a good time.

If you plan a trip on Sat/Sun, let me know. I don't usually visit The Cafe, but I'll try to stop in from time to time.

Guess this is as good a place to post this as any, since I did go for a ride, and I'm in the NW. Grin  Just wanted to throw up my first attempt at lumping together clips into something resembling a video:

Thanks! Smiley It's only about 80 miles round trip from my house, but the good scenery doesn't start until you get east of Camas, about 10 miles or so from my house. I took a different road back though; I'll have to get around to putting that one together next week maybe. That and taking the camera on a ride up through Cougar and around the mountain.

This past Sat, hubby and I went for about a 400 mile
round trip ride. We rode for about hr and 1/2 to
Pt. Townsend and took the ferry across to Whidbey Island.
There we left the Island and took the Old Chuckunut Hwy
to Bellingham, Wa. From there we took the freeway to
Lynden, Wa. That is near the Canadian Border. We left
the freeway and made our way to my Aunt's house for
my Uncles memeorial.
Going along the Old Chuckunut hwy is acutally the old
hwy that everyone used before the freeway was put thru.
It is loaded with twisties like I have not ridden before.
You Dragon guys can keep yours as I have now found
ours.. lol..
Dj, sorry for not being able to get in touch with you, this
was a fast one day trip.
We stayed for about 4hrs and visited
with family and time to head back. We wanted to make sure
we caught the ferry home as that meant we did not have to
take the superslab thru Seattle and Tacoma..
Hubby took some video and as soon as he gets it downloaded
I should be able to share it. We didn't get the video of the
actually best part yet it will show some of the area..
We left our house at 8 a.m. and got back home
at 9:45 p.m. Long day yet was beautiful weather.
80 degrees and sun all day till we were on our last let
home. Days like that, I hate to see end. So glad we
were able to do this trip on the bikes.. Smiley kim

Wow, that beats my ride last week. Went up through Cougar and around the east side of St. Helens, and back in to Spirit Lake, about 200 miles round trip, took 6 hours! Cheesy  The last bit back to the lake is awesome! 25-35 mph, and tons of twisty roads! Grin

It's awesome, but if we went up from Cougar you Savages might need to bring a gas can, unless you went to Randle from there. It's almost 60 miles from Cougar to the lake, and another 35 from there to Randle.  I know I filled up in Battleground, and had to top off in Cougar on the way back because it was getting pretty low. Undecided  It'd be a blast though! Cheesy

Meet my friend Rita. She and her hubby live about an hr from me. Us
gals try to get together as often as we can for ride, lunch and more riding. Sometimes we allow the guys to join us.  Wink
Today was just us 2. We rode some main and mostly back roads around my area. We had hoped to see the Eagles where they congregate at low tide. However we missed them as it was high tide by the time we got there.  Angry
She rides an 09 Yamaha V-Star Deluxe. It is a very nice bike as well.. Smiley kim

Kim, our official East Coast entry is completed and it falls within the time span you had requested.

http://suzukisavage.com/cgi-bin/YaBB.pl?num=1292661121/477

Roads ranked in order of decreasing severity ....

#1  Tail of the Dragon
#2  BigZuk's special nameless road
#3  Hwy 80
#4  Fontana Dam Road
#5  The Diamondback
#6  Old Hwy 74-A
#7  Last "unimproved" section of Blue Ridge Parkway (south loop) just before exiting into Maggie Valley

Trip mileage 1,232 miles start to finish  (Mon-Thurs)

Smiley

(PS  your little girl doesn't count on the "cute" part of the contest -- after all, you brought her with you, you didn't find her on the trip.   She's cute alright, but she's part of your riding/driving group, not a found item at all.
