Ah ok, I forgot that JB Weld is still epoxy.  I remember reading the back of a tube once, or somewhere, and there was a testimonial about some guy using it on a crack in his engine block.  I just equated JB Weld to epoxy-metal after that.

Getting my S40 and being on this forum is my main source of information about wrenching.  My parents never did much with their cars, so I'm glad to have the knowledge base here.

Ride around for a day or two,... and they'll clog up with carbon...  Huh...

I've fixed leaks like this before... Wink...

Would this help: Permatex® Muffler & Tailpipe Sealer

Worked for me.

That stuff can resist the heat, but it gets too brittle -- it's not tough enough physically to endure the vibration in an exhaust system on a larger thumper.
