fork lowering inserts
07/24/11 at 20:25:05

Attempted to search my question but came up empty.  Sorry if this has been addressed previously....

Does anyone have a spec for the tubing Ryca uses for the fork lowering mod?  OD and ID.  I am assembling parts for a cafe build am am using the kit as a reference.  I don't have nearly the cash for the kit but enough fab skills to make the parts. I feel like it might be a slap in the face for me to call them and ask this question considering I am not looking to buy it from them but make it myself.  Thanks.

Thanks for the link.  He lays things out with some great pics.  It didn't specify size...guess I will just wait until I have it apart and see.

I took out my fork innards and carried one of them to lowes. I can't remember the size, but I found a 3' piece of schedule 40 PVC pipe that has worked great. It slides all the way up to the last bevel. 2 seconds with a dermal made it seat perfectly. Good luck!

Thanks, my wife is having a baby any minute now so I am trying to have all parts accounted for before tearing into the bike.  Plan is a weekend to go from stock to cafe.  Should be doable if I don't have to keep making parts trips here and there.  We will see! Smiley

You can make a set of spacers from your old 1inch bars (I assume you wont need them if you are going cafe) Thats what I used, plenty tough and perfect fit.
