Leak from crankcase?
07/24/11 at 12:37:47

2007 S40

Forgive the ignorance, this is my first bike and I'm learning as I go.

It seems the leak is coming from the seam where the crankcase attaches to the left side of the frame, next to the kickstand (PICS BELOW).

I dropped her on her right side and we had to take her apart for some cosmetic repair and part of that was removing the tank. She's been sitting for about a week disassembled and we noticed the leak four days ago but it very well could have been there before we took the tank off. It was not there before the drop.

Could this be fluid draining due to detached lines and lack of pressure? Or do I have a larger problem on my hands? We hope to get her back together mid this week and see if the leak persists.

Thank you for the newbie help,

Steph

oil seeps into the engine mounting thru bolts when there's no torque on them.  re-torque and the leak will subside.
