LED  turn signals and running lights
07/21/11 at 15:01:13

Has anyone installed this system on their bikes. I'm considering replacing the front running lights and turn signals with LED's, also the rear turn signals. I saw a sequencing Led light bar for the rear, seems like it would catch a cager's attention. When you apply the brakes the light stops sequencing and stays on. What do you people think of these lights and the LED systems in general. Thanks for you opinions in advance.

I only have one experience with an LED bulb, and that was a Harbor Freight brake light a friend gave me for my old Savage.  Not as bright as the original. That being said, my C50 I believe has stock LED brakelights, and they're fantastic.  I've heard the replacement LED bulbs for turn signals and such tend to be slightly directional also: show up great from behind, but not as well from the sides.  Plus, for the turn signals I think you usually have to get a different flasher(whatever it's called) since they don't draw as much current.

Just my $.02 (on sale for 1/2 off!) Cheesy

I have on both my bikes LED running lights (on all lights),
I'll take a couple of pics today and post them here.

I didn't buy the ready bulbs but actually made them myself.

I just order online a 50 pack of standard white (5mm) 12V leds
(along with a resistor for each) and  wired them into  place.

I did this to save watts because on my yamaha I'm running
110watts up front and my system can bearly handle that load,
so this hepled.

On my little bike (a 50cc, 5hp, 2-stroke aprilia scooter)
it didn't have any running light anywhere to begin with,
except the stop light, so that's why.
