Harleys have hydrolic tappets (lifters)  No valve lash is the really nice part.  I'm happy with this over head cam engine though.  Just gotta save up some pennies

Hardly Abelson is only one of the many brands that have hydraulic lifters.

These bikes all have hydraulic valve lash adjustment, and I'm sure there are many more:
   Kawasaki - Vulcan 750, 1500, 1600, 2000
   Kawasaki Nomad
   Suzuki - Intruder, Bulevard
   Yamaha - Road Star
   Honda Shadow 750
   Honda Shadow 1100
   Honda Goldwing 1200, 1500, 1800

Besides,.... EVERY 4-stroke bike, even those without hydraulic lifters, have self-adjusting valves.    Over time, some valves adjust themselves to get looser, and some adjust themselves to get tighter.

Just curious, are you running the bottom end that you got from me?

And you moved huh?  Nice to hear it.  Best of luck.  Hot tub should be ready by fall. LOL

Gold Wings since 1984 have had hydraulic valves, as well.

Well, they did until 2001.  The 1800s have solid lifters.  This I know to be true.  They are a shim under bucket design and hardly ever need adjusting, however.
