If setting the stock fuel thingy to PRIME has the same effect as having a Raptor set to ON, why buy a Raptor?

Switching to prime will fix one potential problem (fuel starvation),... but you will have no reserve...

...the problem of a torn diaphragm, causing flooding of the crankcase, airbox, and engine, is not corrected by switching to prime...  this is supposedly what the vacuum operated petcock prevents, but when it fails, it causes it...
And,... failure rate for the vacuum petcock is greater than the failure rate of the float...
Ironic, huh?..
Truth is... a vacuum petcock is not a "safety" feature at all.. it is a convenience feature for those that can't remember to turn a knob...
It is in no way safer than a manual petcock, it is less safe...
... at least if your float sticks and begins flooding you can turn off the petcock... What do you turn off, when your vacuum petcock starts flooding the engine?...
Nothing... It just floods and floods... until you get some pliers and disconnect the hose, then find something to plug the hose...

Raptor solves all these problems... and makes the tank easy to pull as well...
